Some more detail about our projects.

Ford Process Coach Training Program

Paradyne was selected by Ford Motor Company to design, develop and deliver Process Coach training to improve quality, product delivery and efficiency on the manufacturing floor.

Paradyne designed, developed, and delivered Process Coach training for Ford Motor Company throughout 2022 and 2023. Process Coaches at Ford are responsible for managing all operations on the manufacturing floor at all Ford plants. The development of this training consisted of the Paradyne team immersing itself in Ford’s operations and culture, interfacing with multiple SME’s, gaining buy-in from plant management, creating a Process Coach operations manual, converting that manual into instructor-led training, designing a train-the-trainer process, piloting the program, and handing off the program to Ford personnel. Paradyne’s program has since been adopted across Ford globally.

Sterling Academy

Sterling contracted with Paradyne to build a fully functional learning system that met the ongoing needs of Sterling Heavy Civil to develop, retain, and attract its field staff, increase the skills and productivity of field staff in all roles, and prepare those who are qualified for advancement.

We started by developing an inventory of the most important skills needed to execute the responsibilities and identify the critical skills gaps that exist along with any organizational or cultural issues impeding performance. We then developed process flow charts across every function for every position. After this step, we drafted a preliminary curriculum or preliminary framework describing the learning programs necessary to close the skills gaps, including recommended delivery modalities, priorities, and options for sequencing the design, build, and delivery of the curriculum. The framework included Departments, Subject Areas, Schools, Modules, and learning topics within each module. Our next phase involved creating the SOPs and Operations Manual from which we developed in-class training handbooks, roadmaps, checklists, case studies, and all other required materials to implement the Sterling Academy. We conferred with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that the program’s content, learning activities, simulations, and examples are relevant to Sterling Heavy Civil Group’s work environment and business. Our final phase included the delivery of a pilot program where we co-delivered with internal facilitators across three field positions. We then handed off the program to Sterling in its entirety.

Ames Academy

Paradyne was selected by Ames to build the Ames Academy with a vision to create opportunities for employees and tools for advancement, maintain the Ames culture, enhance performance, standardize processes, and focus on why they do things the way they do.

Ames looked to Paradyne to build an Academy that would reduce time to promotion, identify training opportunities by position, increase success rates and improve safety and retention. Paradyne began by conducting skills gaps workshops that identified the gaps in learning and opportunity, then converted those gaps into a broad-based curriculum across nine subject areas and four positions. Paradyne worked closely with management to ensure that the topics and subject areas reflected the vision of the organization and were the correct areas to focus on as the Academy rolled out. Paradyne then worked closely with Ames SME’s to develop SOPs and ultimately convert those SOPS into training content. Paradyne trained the SMEs to become facilitators and turned over participant workbooks, slides, facilitator guides and activities. To date, almost 100 participants have attended the training.

Ford New Employee Orientation

Ford wished to standardize New Employee Training across all plants and facilities worldwide. Paradyne was asked to design a program that enhanced the new employee experience and standardize Ford messaging worldwide.

Following the success of the Process Coach training, Paradyne was asked to create Ford’s New Employee Orientation Program for all three major divisions of Ford for both hourly and salary personnel: Ford Blue, Ford Model e, and Ford Pro. This program is a 5-day orientation program designed to help new hires become familiar with Ford’s culture, divisions, products, locations, output, production process, their role, as well as expectations around safety, delivery, cost, maintenance, environmental, quality and people. The development of this program consisted of Paradyne interfacing with multiple divisions within Ford, collecting all relevant information and videos, and ultimately designing a brand-new employee orientation experience for new hires. This program is being rolled out across all of Ford, including the new Blue Oval City production facilities for electric vehicles.

Sundt

Sundt Technical Orientation

The Paradyne team was selected by Sundt to design and develop technical orientation training across three key positions. Sundt desires to onboard technical personnel more rapidly and enable key field operations personnel to get up to speed on jobs quickly.

Paradyne began by surveying new hires and existing staff to determine where skills gaps existed. We then converted those gaps into a broad-based curriculum across seven subject areas and three positions. Paradyne worked closely with management and HR to ensure that the topics and subject areas reflected the needs of the organization and were the correct areas to focus on as the training began. Paradyne then worked closely with Sundt SME’s to develop SOPs and ultimately convert those SOPS into training content. Paradyne plans to train the SMEs to become facilitators and will ultimately turn over participant workbooks, slides, facilitator guides and activities.

Ford Daily Interactive Skills Videos

Ford needed to update their training protocol to enhance on-the-job learning. Paradyne was selected to design, develop, video, edit and produce multiple training videos around both technical and leadership content.

Paradyne is contracted by Ford to create ongoing training around production best practices (examples include scrap, error proofing, over-cycling, etc.) and daily interactive skills around behavioral change (sexual harassment, coaching and counseling, discipline, etc.).  This program has included Paradyne immersing itself in internal Ford operations, interfacing with floor personnel and creating an e-learning platform designed to be easily absorbed by plant floor employees. This program has been implemented throughout Ford.

Ford Facilitator Training

Ford desired standardization of the facilitation and content delivery of the Ford New Employee Orientation program for their Training & Development Leaders across all of Ford. Paradyne was chosen to design, develop, and deliver these Train-the-Trainer workshops.

Paradyne designed a 2-day program that included an immersive facilitation experience with one-on-one instructor-led feedback, video critique and content overview. Participants rated their experience as one of the best they have ever had.

Kiewit Ops Manual

Kiewit Operations Manual

Paradyne was engaged by Kiewit Offshore Services to help standardize operations and create an Operations Manual for the District across multiple subject areas.

Paradyne worked closely with management and SME’s to identify current state processes and then to develop desired state processes across a number of operations including: Quality, Safety, Hose Management, Procurement, Change Management, Project Cost and Production Reporting, among others. From there we developed standardized processes that were captured and documented across positions. Key learnings and best practices were captured throughout in various Think About It boxes and the entire SOP/Operations Manual was digitized with hyperlinks to ensure immediate and updated access. Once the Manual was complete, training was developed across the District to deliver all content to the relevant personnel. Paradyne was instrumental in Training The Trainers and ultimately handing off the program to the internal Kiewit teams.
